  • "60 TR3 valve job

    I am having hardened valve seats and new guides installed by a local engine shop. They have asked me for the installed height of the valves. I have checked all of my reference materials and can not find this information or don't understand what I have seen. Can you help me undersatnd what they are asking and provide that spec?  Kyle

    Mornig, First sorry for my terrific gramatical. I just rebiulding my TR2 engine and the standard aluminium sump are put in place without sump gasket and with a silicone joint SILKRON SPG. Now then loss some oil at the corner front. I put out all the 16 bolts, but the sump dont like detach from cylinder blok by any way. Please ...

    Justdave,  Last Fall I broke down a TR3A engine with about 75K original miles and found the original Hepolite 83 mm pistons were grossly worn. You could almost put 2 rings in some of the ring grooves and the skirts were sort of "see through". I suppose that this engine may have been abused during it's short run but on the other ...
