I have a Spitfire 1500/ 79 California model. When I bought it I found
that there should have been a 'relay / buzzer' warning for seat belts
etc. Only a six pin socket was hanging there. I found from a USA
Triumph site a part which name was SEATBELT LOGIC W/BUZZER, code
545-110 which should be a Moss code, but I cannot find it ...

If you want to be sure if it´s really the fuel pressuere just disconnect the fuel line whilst the engine is running. If the engine leans down actually, you got it!

I was wondering if the red ignition light is supposed to stay on in the speedo after the car is started? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I already see I have my work cut out for ...

I have a 75 Spitfire with what looks to be a spacer about 3/8th of an inch thick on top of the left front spring. I can't find any reference to it anywhere. Is it just to correct ride height , or is it OE. Also the lower A arms have about 1/2in of spacers on the same side. I need to get rid of most of them so that the nuts catch more ...

The problem has been solved: Engine was simply running too lean. It took a lot of 'trying things', including suggestions from this forum.
It's a rather interesting story how I ran into this problem in the first place. I bought the car with dual webbers on it, but decided to convert to a couple of SU HS4s, as the webbers ...

Hi Marcos
1. How do you know that it don´t have the ballast wire?
2. With the "sport" Lucas coil, the golden one, you don't need the balast. It starts and runs allways with 12V. Commonly they start with 12 and runs with 6V.
3. To stay on "the safe side" you can buy one balast from ebay or directly ...

Took the following actions since I last signed on:
1. Installed the run on valve and did the plumbing as the shop manual shows for the a car with Strombergs carbs, as there is no schematic for one with SUs.
2. Installed an Oil Cooler
3. Tries a couple tanks full of premium gas
The ...

Kas Kastner wrote a book on racing modifications for Triumphs, including Spitfires. In addition, there are some pretty helpful web sites to consider:
http://triumphspitfire.com/
http://teglerizer.com/triumphstuff/index.html
You'll find, as you peruse these and other sites, some talk of "bolt on" modifications. Yes, something ...

I believe the original tires for your car were 155SR13. 175/70SR13's will also work (same height) and are slightly wider. I actually bought my tires at Costco (Michelin 175/70SR13) when Michelin was offering a $50 rebate on the purchase of 4 tires. As the tires were $50/each, I got one free!

I purchased my Weber manifolds from Moss in the UK, and fabricated the linkage. I bought my Webers used and rebuilt them. I'm using twin 40DCOE's, but I have extensively upgraded the cylinder head (larger valves, ported and polished head, upgraded springs, fast road cam) to optimize their performance. I do NOT have any problems (no ...
