  • Bedliner in the Cockpit - Help, all you restorers!

So, my cockpit is all stripped to the bare metal - I've removed the bulk of the surface rust with a wire brush - I then applied $40 worth of POR-15 products, including the Marine-Clean (cleaner/degreaser), Metal-Ready (a metal prep/sealer product), then two coats of POR-15 rust preventive primer ...

  • Which performance exhaust is best.....?

I've been looking at some exhausts for a while now and still can't decide which is right?    I've set my 71'B up for autocross and am looking to get good performance out of it.  I know the Peco lists performance numbers, but I'm wondering how it compares to the Ansa? Or is their another that I'm missing??? ...

  • Re: '64 MGB stalls after few seconds

I have a quick update.  I managed to start the car just a moment ago.  The problem is that I haven't changed anything!!  Now that I think about it, it is actually scary in a way.  Actually here is exactly what happened: I went to my car today and tried starting it counting on a miracle, but instead I heard one tick and ...

  • '64 MGB stalls after few seconds

I've had this MGB for a few months and it was running great.  Yesterday I took it for a ride around town (only few miles) and came back home.  I parked the car in the garage.  Now because my car had problems with the blinkers I decided to clean the wiring with a wire brush.  I was doing one wire/connector at a time and ...

  • Rattle from front suspension or steering

Hello, I am the happy owner of a ' 66 B in Denmark (you know - the small country in Europe....), but I have a problem with a "rattling noise", coming from the front of the car everytime I drive over a small bump like a manhole cover. I cannot figure out whether it's coming from the front suspension or the steering ...

  • 78-B - Carburetor Rebuild Kit?

So I've been working on restoring my 1978 MGB that I inherited all summer, and finally got it going just in time for the car show that I've been going to for years.  I get it there, and find out that I'm going to need to rebuild the carburetor (after taking with several people, including MGAGuru, for those of you who are familiar ...

  • New Member, MGB Wheel Question

How you doin, my name is E.J. and I just got a 1980 MGB. I got the car to work on it with my dad. He has 2 Austin Healy's from the 50s, one that he has already restored, and one that he is restoring now. I have searched on Moss Motors for a template that is used to paint the wheels on the MGB the original color of silver and black. I have ...

  • Fuel Injection

I've just installed the fuel injection kit on my 79 MGB, and really happy with it, but the idle is around 1400 rpm.  I can't locate any vacuum leaks.  Where do I look, and how?  The car also runs on the hot side, very close to the red zone.  Is this ok?  Finally, it doesn't have much power, but I've never ...

  • New member, new project, electrical problem

Not much mechanically wrong with the 71 MGB we acquired other than neding a new exhaust but none of the Dash Gauges work and I'm looking for pointers on where to begin looking.

  • 76 MGB lives/dies

My 76 MGB has begun to play dead from time to time.  I turn the key -- no life or lights.  Wait a bit and try again. Maybe or maybe not .. but eventually it lights up and says "OK, I'm ready to play."  Question:  Where is a good place to start looking for the problem?  The ignition switch itself?  The ...
