I have noticed that re-shelled 74 CB MGB has BHM1111E 125206 as an engine number. Is this an exchange 18V unit or has it been reconditioned?

I've dismantled the lower block and discovered that the #1 piston has caused a slight gouge in the sleeve......I don't know how severe this is as machine shops are apparently a dieing trade according to the folks at Montejoys Automotive in Hyattsville, MD. This defect would explain why the engine was burning oil from the original owner. ...
