Hello, Phil.
I can understand your feelings about not modifying MGs with modern drivetrains and all. My MG was a joy to drive as originally built. Well, almost as originally built. The previous owner put a Weber carburetor on it and I didn't like that. But I drove it from Kentucky to Oklahoma, a distance of about 900 miles, and received admiring ...

I haven't tried to replace the glass. The price for a new mirror purchased from Moss was reasonable, and so I went that route. Then when I received the mirror and found that it was manufactured in England, I was quite satisfied.

There is no ''easy'' way to remove the glass. I did an online search and found a couple of sites that described how to replace the wipe strip. With that information in hand and my Haynes manual, it went pretty well.

motorbill,
I'm afraid it's true. A 16-year old kid, out for a joyride in his mommy's Town Car, pulled out of a shopping center and creamed my car. I've never seen metal tear like it did. And the body was twisted so badly that if you knealt down and looked at it from the rear, the right side was about an inch or so higher than the left, and the ...

As the previous owner of a 1977 MGB roadster, I would have to say that if there is ''bubbling'' in the paint and you don't want to spend money on body repairs, WALK AWAY! At $5k, I would expect it to not have any rust. There are several nice examples here in Tulsa, OK that have zero rust and are in the under $4k range. Surely there are some in ...

Okay, guys. I can answer this with some authority, since I bought a brand-new 1972 - in 1972.
From September 1971 to April 1972 I had been on my second tour in Vietnam. The entire time, I had a picture of a TR-6 on my barracks wall and I dreamed of owning one when I returned to the states. Upon my return, the first car I bought was a 1963 ...

For anyone who is interested, my brother-in-law told me about a 1972 MGB that is for sale for $500.00. I haven't seen it personally, but I saw some pictures. It is in a barn and the interior is out, to include the dashboard. The factory hardtop comes with the car. I couldn't tell, but the body looks sound.
If anyone is interested, I can arrange ...

Funny you should say that, David. In talking with my wife, I suggested that I might offer $2000. If they don't accept that, I'll walk away. I had been driving a 1977 MGB, but about three weeks ago, a 16-year old unlicensed driver in his mommy's Lincoln Town Car drove into my right side. Did $5000.00 worth of damage and ran. Me and the MG chased ...

Hello, all. I'm new to the Jaguar forum as I am normally in the MGB forum. But I am considering the purchase of a 1974 Jaguar XJ12 and would like to get some feedback on whether it is a good buy. This particular car is in unrestored condition with a Chevy 350 V8 powertrain in place of the V12. NADA Classic car price for a V12 of this year is ...

Thanks for the response, Bill. I thought that the relay nearest the firewall might be the starter relay, but wasn't sure. As you may know, I have had an ongoing issue with my 1977 B not starting on occassion. I thought it was the ignition switch, then thought it might be the starter. The car wouldn't start and I was getting ready to check ...
