Hi......... can someone help?
I have a 1990 Mini Cooper, carburation variety. This has the triple instrument binnacle, containing the Rev counter, speedo, water temperature and petrol gauge etc. The petrol gauge is not reading correctly. When the car is filled up the gauge reads full, but when the tank is about half full the gauge reads empty. {It is a 34 lt tank and takes about 17 lt to top it up again.} I have changed the petrol tank sender with no difference in readings. I have changed the petrol gauge, still not difference. It have checked the wiring and earthing.
Looking at the wiring diagram, the only other component in the circuit is a voltage stabiliser. In my case this is 'built into' the instrument printed circuit board i.e. it is not the 'metal cube' variety that can be changed.
Does anyone think this is the problem {the water temp gauge also reads low and the indicator flasher 'ticks' faster than 'normal'. Where can I get another printed circuit board?
