    Hi ****

Just joined the forum. To answer your question....,

I have a '67 Etype 2+2 and have owned it for 32 years. It's in good shape mechanically and interior, but needs a body make over and chrome work.  Also, I have an ' 04 XJR, great car, but, terrible in the winters here in the mid-atlantic. My "go to show" car is a 64 1/2 Poppy Red Mustang conv. w/ white "real" leather interior.  This is a fully restored car done by me, except for finish paint and installation of the leather seatings.

There you have it! This is my story and I'm sticking to it!

    Hi,

I bought my '58 XK-150S roadster in 1966 and have been working on it ever since.  It's been stored in barns and garages in Massachusetts, Miami, Michigan, and South Carolina.  I take it out weekends around Hilton Head Island where we can use a car like this all year 'round.

It has the original red leather with cracks and all and is white with a black top and chrome wire wheels.

I've never wanted to make it concours and like doing all the work on it myself.

Hey, Woday!   We're almost in the same boat!   I bought my '59 3.4 XK-150s roadster in August 1960 and have kept it since!

I bought it from an "old" guy (my age now) who couldn't get his golf clubs in the trunk.  His loss, my gain.

    It's pearl grey/red leather/wire wheels/OD/all original & unrestored.   109000 miles & never any damage (knock on wood).

I'll try to get a pic posted to match yours!

This years project will be to install "Lucas", ie: MOSS driving lights.  Last years project was to replace a fuel pump which gave out after only

47 years!   Those Brits could never make a product which lasts!

    Cheers & Happy New Year!

Re: What Year Is Your XK?

1953 XK-120M FHC...   Just aquired it in December and I am still in the "evaluation" phase.  The car had been in storage for 34 years and is completely original, even the paint.  This is not to say that it doesn't need a lot of attention.  There is very little rust but the paint is very bad.  The fuel tank is bad and I am in the process of replacing that.  The engine turns freely and builds 30+ lbs of pressure on the starter.  Amazingly it still has fire to the plugs and the all the electrical system works with the exception on one directional light which may be just the bulb,  The interior needs a complete replacement...  the seats are split, the moths got to the wool headliner and the carpets are faded and worn.  I hope to try to fire the engine in a few weeks and will decide where to go from there.  I'm still not sure if I have the courage for this project!  I am more comfortable with patching up old Midgets...  ;-)
