    MGA brakes pull

I recently rebuilt the brakes on my '57 MGA roadster.  New cylinders on the front, rebuilt on the back, new shoes all around.  I've re-adjusted all six adjusters three times.  When I brake, the car initially pulls to the right, and then straightens out back to the left.  I'm at wits end.   I've been doing my own brake work for the past 25 years, so it's not my first time.....  I've checked tire pressure...

    Any thoughts?Tongue Tied

Did you replace the flex lines?

Yep. I've seen it before and even had it happen to me once. A line will collapse inside and when the pedal is first pushed the wheel cylinder or caliper in question won't "get the message" right away. Eventually the line is forced open and that wheel responds, evening things out. In many cases(including mine) what really tells you is that when you release the brake pedal just the opposite happens, though not as severely. Of course you might have some kind of suspension problem causing this, but my money's on the lines.

I just went around and redid all my cylinders and have a little pull. I think Barney mentioned loosening the shoes adjusters and working the brake pedal several times to get some travel of the pistons in the cylinders to make sure everything seats nicely (then bleed again? not sure.)  I am going to try that next.

Yes, I replaced the brake lines.  It was only... let's see....   only seventeen years ago.

You mean I have to do it AGAIN?    Shoddy British workmanship.   ;-)

I'll give it a try.  Thank goodness for EZ bleed.   (that refers to both knuckles and brakes.)
