    Clutch Master Cylinder Seals

I am rebuilding a clutch master cylinder for a '64 etype and want to ensure the seals on the piston are positioned properly.  As both seals are conical in shape, can you let me know how to properly position the seals?  Is the leading edge postioned toward the front of the piston or the back where the push rod contacts the piston?

    Thank you for the help.

    Chuck,

The leading edge faces the direction in which the piston travels when depressing the clutch pedal. Did your rebuild kit not come with an illustration? I've seen a number of off branded kits lately with no instructions, which I think is cheesy, but I'm afraid is the wave of the future...

    Chuck:

As Bill noted a lot of seal kits are no longer coming with instructions. It sounds like it's time to develope some generic instructions that can be included in the kits, or at least have them available on the website for reference.

Thanks much for the reply.  A generic illustration in the kit would be great or if not feasible Ian illustration on the site would suffice.
