way off subject, anybody know of a good online mercedes benz info website?

Ok I just spent about the most fruitless 3 hours of my life trying to find some info on the web about classic mercedes  roadsters.   This magazine and you guys in general have always been really good to me regarding my Triumph Spitfire adventures so I'm hoping someone will be able to point me in the right direction.

I have recently been driving by a really old mercedes (I'm guessing 1930s, body style looks similar to an old TR-3 or MG-A)  it's just sitting in this guy's back yard with no top or cover or anything and a lot of moss growing on it.  My curiosity has been aroused and I'm tossing about the idea of approaching them about maybe taking it off their hands.  What I need is to get myself a little bit better educated about the car.  All I know is what it looks like and that it has a mercedes emblem on the hood.   does anyone know of a website where I might be able to peruse different models and years of mercedes so that I might at least be able to figure out what model and approximate year it is in order to get some sort of idea as to its rough value?  The official mercedes benz site was completely worthless unless I'm interested in buying one of their new suvs,   and I already told you about my adventures with google and ask.com

    Thanks in advance guys!!

Hi Woofie I've got a Kompressor as my daily driver and I know of two web sites that might help. www.MercedesBenz.AutoBoardz.com  and www.emercedesbenz.com   the first one offers a forum and the second has a search . You could also try google using images. If all else fails contact your nearest Benz dealer they are pretty knowledgable and could probably point you in the right direction. Good luck!

Have you tried http://www.mbca.org/  I'd start with their forums and just start asking. You might need to post a pic to get the most help.
