Right direction of whire wheel screw (TR3)?

    Hello,

on my second-hand bought TR3 the screws (wheel nut) of the whire wheels are always somewhat loose (well, at least not as good fastened as before starting the tour) after driving around.

To fasten the screws I have to turn them against the running direction of the whire wheel.

I am wondering if this is ok or the HUB (I took the term from a parts catalog of MOSS) is not right attached (wrong way).

In my opinion the screw direction should be WITH the running direction of the wheel to protect that the screw could untighten.

Summary: should the direction of the whire wheel screw be with or against the running direction of the wheel?

I hope that I could explain my problem. :-)

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Regards

    Abbes (from Luxembourg)

    Abbes,

As I understand your post, the tops of the nuts(assuming the ear is in a vertical position) must be hammered toward the front of the car to loosen (undo). This is correct positioning. If you are continually having to tighten the nuts they are likely not being tightened enough to begin with, or the hubs/ wheels are worn out.
