    Steel Shim Head Gasket

Has anyone on the forum used the "Corgasy" steel shim head gasket along with the stock head gasket to sucessfully lower their compression ratio?

I'm assuming that the gasket is installed under the stock gasket, that is, first the shim, then the stock gasket ,then the head.  I'm also going to ask again what kind of compression readings one should  expect to see  from a healthy stock 2138 cc TR 4?   Thanks: KSD

    Re: Steel Shim Head Gasket

The low compression kit was a steel plate and two steel head gaskets.  It gave about 7.5:1 - 8:1  CR

Fitting the steel gasket with a copper one, I would expect to fit the steel gasket next to the cylinder head.

An OE steel head gasket is 0.020" thick which is 0.5 mm

An OE copper gasket is 0.060" thick which is 1.5 mm

You know that the TR engine stroke is 92 mm and the bore is 86 mm

What combustion chamber capacity do you have? Given that you can work out your expected CR.
