    TR3 or TR4 differential?

My TR3A is a mix of TR3 and TR4 parts. It's got a TR4 engine, transmission and driveshaft. I need to fix my differential (ring and pinion) and wonder how I can tell if it's a TR3 or TR4 diff, or doesn't it matter?

The TR3A and TR4 crown wheel and pinion sets are are directly interchangeable.

Just one thing. The normal ratio is 3.7 but many US cars had a 4.1 ratio. If you have the crown wheel and pinion out, just count the teeth.

If assembled check by turning. If you hold one side from turning remember that the other side turns at double the rate of the ratio.
