    TR6 Soft Top - Concerns

I have (almost) finished installing a new soft top on my '72 TR6.  Still need to add one more snap on each of the side windows, otherwise, complete.  What a job!  I did find some really good instructions on one of the British Motorsports forums, which saved me several times from doing the wrong thing.  Many lessons learned!

A concern that I hope someone can weigh in on:

Folding down the top seems to be putting a rather 'hard' crease in a couple of spots on the side windows.  I am worried that the plastic will deteriorate or crack.  Is there any 'magic' to how the top is folded into the rear compartment?

    Thanks....

Re: TR6 Soft Top - Concerns

Push the front header rail, rearwards and slightly upwards, while knocking the soft top side support downwards, until the assembly begins to fold. Continue lowering the frame and pull the fabric flat over the deck lid. Then fold the fabric inwards (side windows), ensure the Vyback windows are free from distortion and the fabric is clear of the frame. Fold the whole thing over the frame and attached the cover with fasteners. Those instruction are right from the original TR6 owner manual.
