Replacing front suspension bushes with poly on '66 MGB

I am planning to replace my front suspension bushes with the SuperPro poly bushes, but before ordering a kit with Moss I am wondering if there is something else I should replace while I am at it ? What about the bushes in the anti-roll bar - should I replace those as well ?

I guess I will need new split pins as well (item nos GHF502, GHF504 & GHF504), but anything else I should get before starting ?

    Mike,

If you are willing to live with the slightly harsher ride and reaction, by all means replace everything you can with the hard bushes. The sway bar link bushes are not quite as important to taut handling as are the others, though even they will contribute. Make sure you understand the manufacturer's claims and instructions before you start. Depending on how long things have been assembled, and under what weather conditions, this is a pretty basic job. You will need a safe jack and good sturdy stands for the car. Good luck.

Mike, I don't know how deep you plan on going, but be aware that the king-pin bushings are the the problem for the backyard mechanic. They have to be reamed to fit with a certain tool that I guarantee is NOT in your toolbox. The truth is that they probably don't need changing anyway.

Just be aware of this before you start the job. If you want them changed, I'd suggest calling around to make sure that you can line up a pro to do them. Other than that, as motorbill66 wrote, ever thing else is doable and you'll be happy with the results.

Good point davey. I am not planning to go that deep though, assuming the king-pins looks/works fine. But in case of nasty surprises, I have a local garage specializing in these cars fairly close, so I will turn to them.
