    AH-MGC Interchange

This maybe a techy technical question but is the AH 3000 and MGC engine block interchangeable? Both have 2912cc displacement. Some part numbers in the catalogs are the same but not enough details to make a determination.

    Re: AH-MGC Interchange

No, the MGC and AH blocks are not interchangable.  The MGC actually shares very little with the AH3000, so modified was the C-series block between what went into the AH3000 and what finally went into the MGC.

For instance, the AH3000 has 5 main bearing, the MGC 7.  And there are countless other differences.

The MGC did share its engine with the Austin 3 Litre sedan, but that car wasn't sold here and I believe it had a lower compression ratio through different pistons.

    Re: AH-MGC Interchange

Thanks for the information. There is too much modification to use a mgc block as a spare engine for an AH. Looks like I'll be parting ways with mgc. Would'nt want to try to make it work it might upset the "originality police"
