    Radio in a '67 sprite?

Can anyone tell me if a 67 sprite originally came with a radio or not?   I was looking through our host's catalog, and it looks like there is an assembly mounted just forward of the stick shift - has a "screen" (for a speaker?) and then a blank rectangle hole below that for the radio.

I can't discern whether or not this part listing (due to the awkwardness of the page listing) on page 75  is for my 1275 sprite or for something else.

    Thanks in advance fellow Spridgets!

Lou, as far as wheither or not the '67 Sprite was available with a radio you'd probably have to consult Horler. http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=38240  You are correct in identifying the radio console that was used in the later Spridgets. My '73 Midget had this option. I believe that this option came along with the change in dash design to the "padded" dash in '68. See the linked page from the catalog, the padded style dash is item 1 and the radio console is item 10. http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=29379  Your car should have the metal dash and I believe that the common mounting for a radio was to hang it underneath in a special housing.  The radio console shown will not fit up to the lower edge of the steel dash, if you want to mount your radio in that manner you'll have to fabricate your own housing such as I had to do for my Midget after I installed the V6 and made a custom flat metal dash. Photos of the dash and radio console are in the coverage of my car on the British V8 Newsletter at. http://www.britishv8.org/MG/BillYoung.htm  It's hard to see the detail as it's all in black, but you can get the idea. The console is formed from 20 gauge sheet metal and also mounts the fog light switch, lighter, and some dash plaques. The speakers are mounted under the dash, one on each side near the kick panels.
