Can anyone verify the thread size and type (BSF, BSC) for the windscreen wingnut on the TC?  I know it is 5/16" but it does not thread onto a

5/16"-22 BSF or 5/16"-24 NF bolt.

It is absolutely NOT an NF thread.  If I am not mistaken, those threads are BSB (British Standard Brass) or BSC (British Standard Cycle).  You can find the thread count for either of those threads on the British Tools & Fasteners web site at: http://www.britishfasteners.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc  They even have a thread gauge that yo can purchase.

I hate to tell you, but they are fine French metric 8mm x 1mm (similar to 5/16 BSF).  You will find the same thread all over the engine and gearbox.  Check the thread count.  It is 25.4 turns per inch, very close to BSF at 26tpi but not the same.
