    ignition warning light

I just discovered that the ignition warning light is on, not very brightly, with out the key in the on position, & with the key removed from the ignition. The ignition switch was replaced about 4 years ago, with a new one from MOSS. I just had it out running in the last couple of days, the light was not on then, but I did just replace the battery then - it had to be jumped when I stopped to  gas . So I guessed figured it was best to get a new one now, instead of waiting to be stranded . I'm not sure where to start looking for this problem, so someone please HELP????????

I haven't even looked at the scematic, but off the top of my head it sounds like your ignition relay is cooked.

Open it up, and clean the contacts. It seems that there may be some continuity where none is desired.

The ignition lamp has nothing to do with the ignition system. It is connected to the alternator. If it is on when the car is off, then most likely the diode pack in the alternator has failed. It will cause your battery to discharge. There are options for replacing the alternator. The alternator used in Saturns or the Bosch alternator used in Ford Fiestas are common alternatives to the original Lucas alternator.  If you need more information, just ask and provide the model year.
