    Leaf springs

Has anyone had any experience with either, "Parabolic" or "Composite" springs? Are they worth the extra money they cost? My winter project is to replace my sagging leaf springs and shocks. I've found composite springs at about $550.00 and parabolic springs anre even more at $630.00. Will I really notice a better ride? I don't mind spending the money if I feel I'm getting a better product. Thanks.......Vic

    Re: Leaf springs

I would sure look at a good local spring and axle shop.  Most all of these shops buy 5160 or 4140 steel and make wonderful springs at a fraction of the cost of "store bought" spring sets.  I suggest you contact LH Threaded rod and Triangle spring company and they can direct you to the closest spring shop in your area. I had a complete set of springs made for my 68 cougar that I restored at substantial savings. A good spring shop can duplicate any spring that ever came down the pike. Good Luck.

I was looking at those at one point in time and I was informed they were for use only with a tube shock conversion. That makes them even more costly if you weren't going with tube shocks.
