Hi,
I've got a cooling problem.
I have a 1973 with a stock original radiator which was marginal at best in the past. Cooling was irregular. Not bad enough to warrant a replacement but enough to annoy. I have had it flushed. When I bought the car 2 years ago my first addition was an electric fan so the stock cooling system already has some assist.
I have had a Moss supercharger installed recently and this has exaggerated the effect. No surprises there - it's getting more energy from the gasoline and not all of that energy gets to the back wheels. But it's no longer just an irritant - now I have to fix it.
I could replace the stock radiator. Aluminum radiators cost twice as much. Stock is about $250 and Ron Davis aluminum is $550.
Any ideas or experience on which way to go?
BTW: The supercharger kit is well engineered and is straight forward to install. And it transforms an anaemic, strangled TR into the machine that the original fuel injection cars were - but without the on / off power delivery.
