I'm hopefully within just a couple of weeks days/tweaks of actually trying to street a project '68 Sprite. Upon aquiring it years ago I belatedly noted that it didn't have rearview side mirrors (if there were original mountings in the doors the PO filled in the holes) so I'd bought a set of Lucas repro fender mirrors which have always struck me as nifty and I'm finally about to install them.
Question: Where'bouts are they typically mounted on the various marques? Was there a general "factory" location? mid-fenders run or closer towards the driver? I'm kicking around the idea of sticking them WAY out there at about maybe only 1/4 - 1/3 the distance from the headlight end as that strikes me as a little "attitude-y" - but would they be usable?
