Has anyone installed a rear main oil seal kit (in a '51 TD) without removing the crankshaft? The installation instructions assume that the crank is out but I would like to know if it would be a problem to install the kit without removing it. I will be installing the 5 speed conversion and thought that I would install the new seal at the same time but I don't want to strip the engine if I can avoid it.
