Just new to the forum, and happy to be here.
Just bought my 77 MGB Roadster. I power washed the engine compartment, it was real dirty. I had a local detail shop do it in Boise. We had to blow dry the distributor to get it to start at his shop. i drove it home, started it a few times in my garage. My son took it out later that day and it would not start at night. I towed it home and it stil sits.
The engine turns over fine. I ordered and put in new spark plugs, a distributor cap. No difference. I also bought the other distributor parts but have not been installed yet. when I first got the car a month ago, when i would turn the key there would be an electrical wine sound, it was normal like the fuel pump or something, not sure exactly what is was. That sound is gone now. I pulled a spark plug and it appears that there is fuel on the plug.
Not sure if it is electrical of something else. Not sure if the coil is bad or what i should check next. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
