Re: can't get '77 mgb to turn over

    update,

I ended up having to take the autochoke off the carb. and boil the copper spring to set it properly.  after that, I was able to adjust the carb. fine, Got it to Idle between 850-950.  only problem was that the seal on the auto choke tore and I had coolant leaking.  so, I had to replace that and now it has been a couple days and I tried to start the car up, and I can't get it started again!  At least, I can't get it to stay running.  no matter how I adjust any of the adjusting screws.  As I try to start the engine, I can get it to start by raising the air valve about half way, then as it turns over, I"ll accelerate it but not getting any high RPM's.  As soon as I let the air valve down, It bogs down and dies, even with it accelerated.

to adjust the carb., I followed the description from in the latest MOSS catalog.  I checked my autochoke again and it seems to be working properly.  I pulled the spark plugs again and cleaned them up.  they are still getting spark.

Please help,  what could my problem be?

    thanks,

     joel
