    TR-8 restoration

I am currently attempting to get my 1980 TR7/TR8 running.  Have rebuilt Strombergs, installed new electric fuel pump, but getting no fuel flow from the tank.  Next step seems to be removing the tank unit, hope I don't have to remove the entire tank!  Need help on how to post picture also.

Did you replace the 'in tank' fuel pump or install an external fuel pump? The 'in tank' pump might be plugged. Also, if you used the existing wiring to power an external pump and are getting no power, check the inertial cut off switch.

Did you remove the line at the carbs to see if it is pushing at all?  The reason I ask is that there are two different paths to take if there is a small push vs. a "no push" situation.  If there is a small push, you certainly have power, but possibly have a block in the line or in the pickup.  (You can remove the line at the pump and place on a small clean line into a can to see if it pushes quicker, which tells you there's a problem with the line.)

If you have absolutely no fuel -- you might have a wiring or fuse problem.  It also might be a bad new pump (it happens!)  Finally, it might still be completely blocked inside the tank.

Oh, and a third idea -- make dang certain the tank has ample gas in it. If the car is on enough of a slope with too little gas, you won't get fuel.
