I know i read this somewhere before, but what type of wrench/screwdriver do i need for the six bolts from the hinge to the door...the ones with the funky phillips looking, but not phillips heads?

You're right...it's NOT exactly a Phillips although a Phillips will work.

Wentworth comes to mind, but I really don't think that was it. The difference between the Phillips and the unknown kind is that the unknown kind has barbs inside the common Phillips pattern that we know so well. It has grabbing surfaces every 45 degrees where Phillips only offers grabbing surfaces every 90 degrees.

In any case, I used an impact Phillips on mine, and there was no problem. The bolts came out easily.

The screws are "Posi Drive" not Phillips and you should use the correct bit to remove and especially install them. Posi Drive differs from Phillips in the shape of the "teeth" on the bit, the Phillips teeth are somewhat rounded where they come together in the center and the Posi Drive meet at a 90 degree angle with a sort of square center portion. Because of this slight difference a Phillips bit will not seat fully in a Posi drive screw and may strip much more easlily. If you can't find Posi Drive tools locally, they are carried by McMaster Carr.  Posi Drive screws are also used to attach the header to the top frame on the later MKIII and 1500 Midgets.
