    MGB Original Radio and Speaker

I have a '74 B with an original AM/FM radio.  Believe it or not it still works.  But, I need some help.

I don't see any place where the speaker(s) may have been located.  They were not in the door panels, and not in the panel behind the seats that separates the cockpit from the trunk.

It happens that the hush panels on both sides of the dash were missing in action when I bought the car.  Is it possible that a speaker may have been mounted to the hush panel on the passenger side?

Any information, diagrams or pictures of how the speaker(s) may have been originally installed would be greatly apppreciated.

    Cheers,

Hi.i have a 73 B   and this has the original radio which still works fine.there are two speakers - one fitted  behind each front seat.I think this must be the original factory location for the speakers,as i remember the car from when it was fairly new,and they have always been there.

    Phil,

Thanks for the info.  It just happens that on the way back from a ralleye last Sunday, I spotted a 70ish B parked in the weeds by a house.

Sooooo, we pulled over to investigate.  The car itself was pretty well gone, but there on the passenger side was a hush panel dangling from the instrument panel.  Low and behold on the left side of this panel, closest to the center console was the unmistakeable hole pattern for a speaker.

    Mystery solved!
