Hi All
Also posted this on the TR 2-4A forum as I believe the 4 shares the 6 windscreen.
I just acquired a TVR 2500 M coupe which many of you know uses a lot of TR6 components.
My inquiry is related to the fact that the previous owner was in the process of converting the car to race trim and cleverly removed the coupe top, windscreen and all. No idea where it went; the car sat for probably 10+ years waiting for the numbers. Anyway, I picked it up for a song and am hoping to reconvert the car to street trim, only this time as a roadster. I hope the TR6 windscreen will be a workable bolt-in solution that will be era appropriate as far as looks go as well as have some possibilty of ready-made top, tonneau, etc.
I'd appreciate if some member would supply me the following dimensions from their TR6:
1-windscreen frame width - at bottom - straight across
2- windscreen frame width - at top - straight across
3-windscreen frame "height" - measured along the plane of the glass
4-windscreen "height #2" - measured perpendicular to the ground
5- windscreen "depth" measured from inside edge of windscreen frame at center of car to a point perpendicular to the trailing edge of the top of the windscreen frame
Probably the TR6 is too narrow, but with someone's help, I'll know for sure. The TVR used a Ford Consul windscreen tilted at a more pronounced rake than the original installation. If anyone has a lead on a Ford Consul windscreen, I'll take that!
Many thanks
John
