Howdy, I've surfed the site a bit trying to find some info but haven't had much luck. Is there a write up that one could direct me to, or could someone pls describe for me what all is done, and how it can be verified, to convert a Positive Earth car over to Negative Earth?
Does anything in particular need to be considered with regards to the Voltage Regulator hookup, Coil, Generator/Alternator conections, and so on? Any other items/concerns I might be missing?
I'm wiring (w/brand new Moss wiring Harness) a "configured as '63" Sprite and starting essentially from scratch as the DPO had apparently bodged together a homebuilt wiring harness that followed no color scheme rhyme or reason whatsoever and much of that is apparently missing, disconected or clipped... The car seems nominaly Negative Earth as it does have a solid looking negative going to ground/body cable right off the Battery and also has an Moss Alternator conversion installed. BUT as I was spending the afternoon sorting out and labeling the conectors on my new wiring harness on the kitchen table with a continuity checker and referencing the wiring schematic in a Haynes manual I just noticed that the schematic (& presumably my wiring harness) is intended/illustrated as Positive Earth in it's rendering
. What should I do? I've also already purchased a Pertronics (Neg Earth) Points relacement that I'm intending on installing...
TIA, Edward.
