    Distributor Identification

I have a 1962 Sprite MK2 that someone had thought about racing.  It never got to that, but it has a number of non-standard parts, one of which is the distributor.  The unit has no vacuum advance, but the cap looks standard Lucas.  I have a set of "standard" points, that are very similar to what is in the distributor, but not quite the same.  (No I haven't pulled the points out to see, it's a bit cramped in there, and I "ain't as young as I used to be".)

The numbers on the visable side of the unit are,  23 04

                                                                        40819 K  (the K might be X or something)

                                an arrow pointing to             307

I would like to get a point set for this unit and have it on hand before Murphy's Law kicks in and the points die.

Any info or leads would be much appreciated, so I don't have to pull the points or the distributor to find out what's in there.

    Re: Distributor Identification

Lucas information shows the distributor is from a 1964-'68 Mini Cooper "S".  The original points were a little different than most, but several Lucas supercessions end up with the common points Moss #151-720 (Sprite/Midget, MGA, MGB, TR3-6, etc.).

Thanks for the quick reply and the information Eric. This forum sure helps in the "keep 'em running" effort.
