    1959 Nash Metropolitan

I have a 1959 Nash Metropolitan with the Austin 1500 engine. I'm assuming that any Austin/MGA engine parts should work just fine. Anybody out there know about these cars and whether I'm correct in this assumption?

They are indeed the same basic design. There may be some small differences during production, but they are basically interchagable. I've seen several MGAs with Metro engines installed.

Thanks Bill. That's what I figured, it's good to have it confirmed.

    whatwouldjessedo,

Hi.  I'm new to the forum and also own a Metropolitan coupe.  Mine's in the process of  becoming an electric automobile, however.  I assure you that mine will have few, if any, Lucas components.  This is my fourth British car and I've learned my lesson well.  Perhaps we can scratch each other's back as our projects move along.

The MGA 1500 engine will work, but the position of the starter on the MGA 1600 will make it difficult to use that engine in your Metropolitan.
