    Persistent log in?

I have the "remember me " box checked on the log in page, but that only works for the next time I visit, if I visit again on the same day. Is there a way to make it so I don't have to log in daily from the same computer?

    Similar experience here, Dave.

Other websites remember for days, weeks & months!

    Re: Persistent log in?

I'm a computer Neanderthal, so don't take what I say with anything more than a grain of stoneage salt, but I have this problem with virtually ANY site or function where there's a box to check for remembering me. In fact, I've given up checking those boxes...

Doesn't work for me, either - just like my TD's gas gauge.  Oh wait, it doesn't have one ...  Hmm

    Re: Persistent log in?

I have the same issue - or at least I did.

The Moss Motors' Software Engineer was working on a solution when a sunny opportunity rose on the horizon and away he sailed. The new Software Engineer was hired a couple weeks back and as soon as she gets up to speed, this issue is on her plate (as well as a billion other things).

My suggested solution for overcoming this (and it works for all the sites you may visit in the future), dump Internet Explorer and switch to Mozilla Firefox.

Firefox will automatically ask you if you wish to have it remember your login info for any page that you complete a login task on.

In other words, it will automatically fill in your username and password - you may still have to hit the SIGN IN link, but you won't have to type it in over and over every day.

Again, we are very much aware of the problem and we are all dealing with the same issue you are - eventually we should have a solution.

    mahalo and keep on motoring!

    John

    Re: Persistent log in?

Oddly enough, I switched on today, clicked on my Moss forum bookmark and found that I was still logged in from yesterday!

    Wonderful things, computers!

    Re: Persistent log in?

If no one has noticed, we have been having random and chaotic issues with our sites. Be aware that my paper bag head (and many other peoples' bag heads) are very much on fire trying to get things back to normal.

If you find you are having problems, let us know and we should be able to help as best we can.

We appreciate your patience and look forward to a time when our paper bag heads are smoldering instead of blazing.

    Hi John,

I do not mean to add any more flames to your paper bag head. However, I am having trouble posting new topics (i.e. I can no longer find the "New Topic" button when I signed in). According to the "Help Center", I maybe abolished by the System Administrator. I hope it is not because I have posted too many naughty questions...

    Re: Persistent log in?

    Maggie Maybe,

I checked your account status and you are far below your naughty post limit - so that should not be a factor.

You may wish to reset all your internet file caches.

To do this, go to your browser's tools. Select the delete all temporary internet files (including files stored off-line). Make sure to do this while on a non-Moss forum site, maybe yahoo home page or wherever.

After deleting everything, close your browser and then come back online - navigate here and login.

    This should reset everything.

If it doesn't, email me and I can get your login information so I can test your account here.

Also, if it doesn't work, we will need your browser information (including version and operating system). All that will help us replicate your problem here.

good luck and have a better one!
