    B - Competition Mods

    Hi Guys

Newbie here, I have just been given permission to use the girlfriends 68 B GT to do the odd hillclimb and sprint in, beofre taking it circuit racing next year.

I am in the process of doing various work to it, (K N air filter, new manifold, bigger bore exhaust, engine has already had some work done by previous owner, stripping out the interior, 6 point roll cage going in, bucket seats & harnesses etc)

The car is currently on wire wheels and I want to put on a set of mini lites, ideally 14x6, but I am struggling to find centre lock versions, so if anyone knows a supplier (i am based on Nottinghamshire, UK) I would be grateful.

Secondly I am ordering a new anti roll bar for the front, but was wondering what the best course of action was regarding the rear, don't want to stiffen it up too much just lower it abit to improve the handling.

Finally,  the car is a bit of a bitsa so nothing is what it seems, already had a nightmare with a gasket set I ordered, but thats another story. Tthe fuel pump is playing up, how do you find out if it is negative or positive?

Sorry for all the questions, not that fimilar with b's worked on my dad's TC & A but this is the first B I have ever crawled around!

    Regards

    Re: B - Competition Mods

For the wheels check out Superlite's version of the knock on alloy. They're new and have a revised center design that is supposed to be quite a bit lighter than the traditonal centers used in knock on alloys. Don't know of a dealer over there, but there should be one, the wheels are made in Australia. You can check out the design here  http://www.acmespeedshop.com/wheels.html

You probably won't need any bar in the rear, only the heavier RB cars had a rear bar. As far as the neg or positive earth, just take a look at the battery and see which post the earth wire is attached to, should be a negative earth car I think in 68. The pump will match if it ever worked before.
