100/4 1956 trunk rear floor to rear body panel photos

HELP!! Looking for some detailed undeside photos showing how the trunk rear floor panel should be attached to the rear body panel. The car we have has approx 20 rivets securing it to the bottom of the rear body panel and it is then welded on the other 3 sides and i am unsure if this is correct

ok to email me direct at walter@carsauto.com

    carsauto,

Your car is done correctly. The floor panel had to be riveted to the body panel at that location because that section of the body is aluminum. The rest of the points to which the boot floor abuts are steel, and could be welded. The rivets should be flat head solid aluminum ones.

We are currently doing one of these cars, but it is at the paint shop right now. If you get the restoration guide for this machine, it will show that this area, unlike the rest of the body and frame which are painted the chosen body color, is brush painted black. I'll look into further, but I believe they used some kind of thick black stuff to seal the seam and to stop electrolitic corrosion between the dissimilar metals.
