    Greetings!!

    Hello all,

I just joined becasue I can't find too many other forums dealing with big healeys.

I'm Steve, my dad is Steve also.  We found and purchased a 1957 100-6 just before christmas.  Having (and trying to get rid of) a couple of MGB's, one is backdated to about 1971 spec (twin carbs, etc), the other is a roller, the Healey looks pretty straight forward.

I look forward to chatting with you all, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi.

    Re: Greetings!!

Welcome Steve one and two! You have just joined one of the best British Car Forums around, the people here are very knowledgable and more than willing to help. Things can get pretty silly sometimes but it's all part of the comradery that makes this Forum special.

Keep us posted as to your progress.

    Cheers...Rita

    Rita,

Silly? What are you trying to imply? This forum is very very serious and technical. If you don't believe it, just ask my imaginary pet fish Marty the Magnificent, who informs ALL my posts. Silly indeed.....

    Re: Greetings!!

Howdee! Despite first appearences, you've been greeted by one of the most knowledgable and clever guys on the Sports Car scene.

I'm talking about our esteemed Motorbill.

Every now and then you might also want to visit www.Britishcarforum.com and go to the Austin Healey forum therein. I doubt if you'll find Bill's equal there but it is informative.

Bill, you can send the check to the usual address. Wink

    Re: Greetings!!

I'll have to take a look at BCF.  I'm part of numerous forums...it started with CRX's in 1996 on some of the earliest forms and mailing lists.  it moved to pelicanparts, and the subaru forum NASIOC after that.  I'm around...I'm busy...I don't have time to post and lurk anymore.

The garage has two MGB's and a 1967 Porsche Rat Rod "hybrid" (flat four subaru power) 912.

I ran across the healey in November, and it was in my basement by christmas.

Thanks for the welcome, I'm sure I"ll be asking questions soon enough...like...the the disty cap the worst design ever?

    Re: Greetings!!

Steve, I don't know you and therefore harbor no feeling neither for or against you, so believe me when I say LEAVE THIS FORUM NOW, and don't ever return!!!!

The people on this forum are all too weird! There is actually NO useful information given by anyone here because they are all so self-absorbed! It's a study in blather-klatch! Especially the self-proclaimed future "Doctor" (motrorbill66), whom thinks that his fecal matter is not odiferous!

Get out now while there is still hope for you. I've tried my best to stay away from these reprobates but unfortunately I remain inexorably drawn to their inane ramblings. It's like watching a car wreck. There is no intrinsic value to be had on this forum. It is a waste of your time, addictive as it may be considering these players!

Do you know that these people even posted on Christmas eve about how toilet paper should be hung! My god man, save yourself! What does THAT have to do with British cars...hummm?

I do realize however that, more than likely, you will NOT head my advice. You too, like them, are only humans as opposed to a processed meat product. I just don't know what you guys see in each other. It the bond you share your common use of silverware, or the fact that a shelf-life is not affixed to you at birth? I just don't get it!

Don't knock it till you've tried it!

    Chopmeister,

I thought you'd declared yourself gone forever. It's been quite a while. You must be quite green. One thing I observe is that you turn rather bitter with age. I needn't even consume a sample of you to detect that!

I enjoy our repartee, but I fear you'll frighten our new Healey owner away, so be off w'ye to a more appropriate forum area. I'll be 'appy ta cross swords w'ya dere, laddy. (I don't know what's happened to me. Talk like a pirate day isn't til September nineteenth) argh.....

Chopped liver, LEARN HOW TO TYPE!

"It the bond you share...”  Should be... "Is the bond you share..." and "shelf-life" should NOT be hyphenated!

I realize that it's difficult to type with no thumbs, but STILL, the least you can do is PROOFREAD!

    Re: Greetings!!

...but toilet paper should be over the top so it's easy to grab.  the ONLY time it should be hung under the bottom is if you have cats...that way they can't unroll it.

The sinister side of me will flip the roll over at people's houses who have cats.

    Hi Heale Jim,

Thank you!  I own a '67 Healey Sprite, but I do not have the manual. Can you recommend a website to purchase one?
