    ABR024 Engine Steady Kit

I have just fitted an engine steady kit (the type that bolts to the water pump)  to my 1275 Mini, but there are a couple of issues. One thing is that the bracket that fits to the water pump could do with being a bit longer, because the bolt hole for the steady bar lines up with the bypass hose (I had to pack it out with washers to fit it) if the bolt is too long it will go into the hose. the other thing is I will have to take the steady bar off if I need to chage the fan belt. Having said that, I am pleased with it.

Thanks to entropy, eventually it WILL go into the hose. Since, the hose is pliable and eventually needs replacing anyway, don't perseverate on this. Just check it every time you change the oil or so, to monitor its progress.

You can mitigate that damage by using a piece of surgical or similar tubing as a sort of "condom" over the threads of the bolt, should you so choose to do so.

Sold quite a few of these now without any issues? you don't need to remove the bar to replace the belt Dude just simply undo 1 bolt at the bulk head end and the belt will slide around it Wink  don't forget to check the bushes at regular intervals as well.
