    Re: Progress report

It's now officially Christmas day on the East Coast (12:52AM). Every thing has been done accept the bonnet. I also watched "It's a Wonderful Life" and had a few Martinis in front of the fire with my lady.

In a few hours, I'll be driving my parents and lady to Boston (2.5 hours) for a Christmas celebration at my brother's house (physics guy, aka guru). As for now the entire rebuild is just waiting for a day that is NOT attached to a holiday, for its first drive.

I think I hear Santa on the roof...gotta go...Merry Christmas!

    Re: Progress report

This SHOULD be the last thread of this series (hopefully).

I followed all of motorbill's suggestions and NOW have a working 1968 Austin Healey Sprite MKIV!

I ran it up to temp and then "walked away". When I returned, I retorqued the head, adjusted the valves, checked for leaks (none), and changed the oil & filter. Then I started her and tuned the carbies.

Today, It took her out for a 30 mile trip which took me on the highway for a bit. Everything was fine, and the power was all of them 63 horses!

So all in all, I think I'm done with the corrective maintenance part, now it's on to other stuff (radio, front end alignment, etc..).

A huge thanks to all of you whom have helped me to get to this point! Your input has been so valuable that words cannot express my gratitude!!!!

Happy motoring...cheers from davey (and chopped liver too)!

    Re: Progress report

Party!!! Excellent !!. I find it gratifying enough to have had a part ,albeit small, in getting you back on the road, to say nothing of what I learned along the way. And especially, thanks to you for the progress reports. It's hard not to get involved in these projects but sometimes we are just left wondering "How'd he make out?".

See you on the Forum.  ken

    davey,

    Good going, man. Now enjoy.

    choppy,

No, I will never eat you. As a matter of fact, I don't think I ever have. No, not even B.V.  I am saddened to hear you are departing our cheerful scene, but I'm sure you will be appearing on party trays everywhere. See yah.

    Thanks Rita,

Perhaps I'll take a drive up to Ontario some day? I know that once I get there, there "triangles" will be waiting!

Thanks again for all your support, and happy New Year! (You do celebrate that in Canada, right?)
