    Re: ???Holiday question???

First off, you two, Ice is water as is steam, and I'm relatively sure I've seen both of these in shapes other than flat, but I'm not sure.

Secondly, on this Earth shape thing, a round object can certainly be flat, can't it? I believe you were thinking of spherical versus planar. This used to be a good scientific website, but it has decended into a butter clutch, or something like that.

Now, back to science. Tell me, you two, which theory is it to which you ascribe? The Superluminal transfer explanation for disappearance and simultaneous reemergence of particles, or superpredeterminism? HMMM? Then again, the many worlds (infinite universes) theory allows for both or either at once, don't it? You gotta choose, so let's hear it, smart guys. Oh, I also want to see you defend your thesis. Show your work.

Also, are there ten dimensions? or eleven? and why. Hah!

    regards

    Prof. Billy

    My dearest professor Billy

You seem to have overlooked the third, and I might add the most indefatigable theory of them all..." the theorem of femalius thinkus so therefore must be so". When will all of you good gentlemen realize that it is this theory that has withstood the test of time. I couldn't help but notice that your theory lacked to explain the absence of Starbucks.Hmmm?

I will give you that you have forgotten more about the L.B.C. than I could ever hope to know, but really...steam and flat round things . . . come now.

    Cheers Rita

    Re: ???Holiday question???

Motorbill, your observation of my faux-paw is accurate. I erroneously wrote "round" where I meant spherical.

Now on to the facts... There are a few things of which we are certain: gravity, magnetism and the two nuclear forces (small and large) are all forces at a distance for which science can offer no explanation.

We also know that energy cannot be created or destroyed, merely changed from one form to another.

Further, we know that it is a social error to wear white after Labor Day, but that's only true for those whom are cognizant of this phenomenon. Ignorance of this rule is not only bliss, but in fact totally eradicates this truism from the perspective of the otherwise offending party.

Therefore, I must submit that since the "Big Bang" gave birth to all of the energy in the universe, (I cite of course, the Unified Field Theory), and that even though science is currently at a loss to explain the 4 forces at a distance, their secrets may be found in the Unified Field Theory.

There is one caveat however, if we do uncover these secrets, this epiphany will surly illuminate our infinite misconceptions of the past, just as someone whom is wearing white slacks to a Christmas party may stumble across the New York Times fashion section on the coffee table near the foyer. Are we actually ready for this angst...I fear that we are not!

That would create mayhem! Cats would be living with dogs, kids would run with scissors, plaids and stripes would be the new fashion trend! We must take care in for what we ask, least we get it!

I'm sure that in the future, all these questions will be answered. I am also sure that I will never see their secrets revealed since it's impossible to pilot a time machine back to a time before time machines were invented....or IS it? After all, my '68 Sprite is a kind of time machine...isn't it?

    Re: ???Holiday question???

Rita, Thank you for making clear the Femalius Thinkus theory.

I originally became aware of this phenomenon before college, and was disappointed that my professors never covered the subject. I had to learn it on my own, under the tutelage of the women in my life. Since I picked this up from the school of hard knocks, I never realized that it was a legitimate theorem with a NAME and all!

You've codified much heretofore-random data for me! THANK YOU!

Perhaps JohnZK could add a "singles" section to the forum, as he's done with Car Mart. Wink

Well now, there is an idea for Marketing. Moss Motors getting involved in the singles game.

    Hmmm.....

You are very welcome sir! But I think you knew at a very early age that we women are more than just pretty faces, but insisted in spending years trying to put male logic to very female conundrum. Oh you guys!

    Re: ???Holiday question???

    Rita,

Ok, sure, your theory trumps all others. If you've read certain of my other posts you will realize that I've been aware of it for some time. In fact, I've been "officially" aware of it (marriage) for thirty nine years one month two weeks two days fifteen hours fourty minutes and thirteen point 8 seconds on my mark....Mark! But who's counting.  I've got a particularly nasty case of flu right now, so please don't hold me to the minutes and seconds, or the time change, since we were wed in New Jersey. Just remember, you said it was a theory..........

Believe me, you don't want this flu, and I understand it's headed east. Cleanse your hands often and thoroughly and keep your fingers away from your eyes. The eyes, beyond being the windows to the soul, are also the entrance portal for the vast preponderance of infectious stuff like colds.

I'm typing this from home, as I couldn't summon the strength to search for my keys, let alone actually drive to the shop. Now I'll tell you what loving devotion is really all about. Linda works for the University in town, from which I imagine this "crud" came, since she had it before I did. (Just think, 20,000 students leave for vacation and then come back with everything that can be gathered from the corners of the nation and beyond) Today is Martin Luther King day. Being a state institution, the university is closed today. Guess where Linda is... That's right, she went to the shop in my stead to answer phones and exhort consumers to pay up and to keep up the good fight in general. On the other hand, maybe she did it because it was preferable to sitting home listening to me groan and cough, and what not....

Jeez, I'm rambling. I wish I could say it was the drugs, but I ran out of those some time ago. I'll leave you alone now, but I'm not forgetting that you and davey utterly failed to answer the questions I posed. When I become rational again I'm going to bug you about this, but I have zero fight in me right now.

    Take care of yourselves.

    Re: ???Holiday question???

You poor man you. This bug is a nasty one! The weather here has gotten bitterly cold and that should help kill off some of  the germs.

Drink plenty of fluids. Pure cranbery juice is an excellent detoxifier.

Take yogurt that has pro biotics in it. This will replace all the beneficial bacteria that is depleted from your immune system.

And yes chicken soup really does help.

We can talk quantum physics, existenialism, logical positivism or any other "ism" you want, ..just feel better soon.  Hi to Linda.

    Cheers...RitaAutomobile

Rita, I hope that your advice is aware of Fematus Thinkus (or whatever you called it).

Motorbill...DON'T DIE YET! Your work on this flat earth is not yet done! Get well soon!

And oh by the by......I just remembered....I work in a school too! I must be next! DAMN!

    Re: ???Holiday question???

davey..it's femalius thinkus, and the medicinal advice given to poor old professor Billy is just the mom coming out in me. It's one of those hormonal things that you men don't seem to have going on. The minute we females become mother's...BANG... we become rewired and the next thing you know we  are Dr. Mom  when we hear of someone being under the weather. We wear a lot of hats.

Take extra precautions at school(see there I go again), hand sanitizer by the gallon, stay well.

Just a reminder; we settled this last year:

The correct way to hang the toilet paper is so that it spools out from the TOP, not the bottom.

By the way, do you think that snowmen ever get sick of the smell of carrots?

Guys - before you wrap up that cool car washing accessory for your spouse's Christmas present, check out this well-made, G-rated video on buying gifts for your wife.  It's an ad, but it's still really funny:

    Re: ???Holiday question???

    Hey,

Let me tell you, after fortythree years of trying to come up with an original, romantic, quality gift at Christmas, let alone Valentine's, anniversies, and birthdays, sometimes you feel like just reporting to the doghouse instead! I haven't started yet! Maybe this afternoon...

By the way, Teddy the wonder princess, our sweet old pooch, has no doghouse, and is usually sleeping on my side of the bed when I get there!

Ah, but this year's question has to be:

Christmas Trees   real or artificial?  and why.

Let's go. Start klatching your blathers!

    Re: ???Holiday question???

    Also,

I'll be rather dissapointed if chopped liver doesn't make a holiday appearance. His smelly, squishy countenance has become traditional here. In these tough times, all we really have to which to cling are our traditions....

P.S. Oh, my Lord!!! I just went into our restroom and BOTH the TP and the PT were hung to come off the bottom! I guess some folks never learn. We'll have to have a meeting after lunch.............................................. ..
