Westfield Eleven, a Lotus eleven replica. See <westfieldeleven.com> for details. I am here because the car uses Spridget running gear.

Re: Tell Us A Bit About Your Car
I bought a 1964 Lotus Elan 1600 for my father last year as a 70th birthday gift. (I currently have a TR3, but have owned many other TRs and an MGB GT.) Hopefully there will be enough Lotus owners to get a category all of its own here -- which in turn might help indicate that there's a large enough market for Elan/7/Esprit (and other Lotus) parts for Moss to start supporting the marque.

Re: Tell Us A Bit About Your Car
I have a 61 Elva Courier...... It uses a variety of BMC parts.....Mostly MGA & Spridget. Also TR2, TR10 (standard 10), Nash Metropolitan, Riley 1.5, & some XK 120 bits. If you have one also.......I can help identifying some of the more strange parts. (Like MGY & Royal Enfield.....Yes there are motorcycle parts on it also!) Dave G (Chassis # 100/169/L)

Re: Tell Us A Bit About Your Car
My name is Jim Stone, and I live in Northern California, Marin County, the city of San Rafael. I own and drive a 1958, Orient Red, MGA Roadster. It was built, March 12 & 13, 1958, and dispatched to San Francisco. The car is very original, and I keep it that way. I love this car... it is a good one ! After having other MGB's over the years, I became interested in the MGA, as it seemed to me that their engineers/designers were really having fun while they were developing the MGA, ... after owning this car, I believe that they were, and I am very pleased to have such a fun machine in my possesion. It's the best car that I've ever had. I love how basic and uncluttered it is, and I love it's "growel" at 70 when you punch the accelerator to summons-up more. The lines of the car are, of course, absolutely beautiful. I would like some help/advice on doing proper tune-ups on the engine and carburators.

Re: Tell Us A Bit About Your Car
I became the third owner of my 1972 TR6 when I was 19, 16 years ago. Now it is sporting triple strombergs with an aftermarket cam, roller rockers, header etc... and equals or betters the 'proper' PI TR6's that we didn't get over here in the US. It also sits an inch and a half lower than a stock TR6 and wears a very attractive non-factory color of Aqua Marine Frost. I also have an early production TR8, the fifteenth production TR8 FHC in fact, that I purchased last year. This TR8 has served as a daily driver for most of its life. The second owner (who bought it in 1982) used it as a daily driver until 2000, then as a weekend driver until I bought it. Currently, it is my daily driver. Just passed 131,000 miles and still runs strong. I have currently beefed up and re-newed the suspension a bit and have some brake maintenance to do next which should improve the braking capabilites of the car as well. Looking forward to continuing my dual TR ownership. Finally, I have a 1968 Ford Cortina MkII 1600GT. Built in late 1967, this is one of the first 1600 crossflow Cortinas built in Dagenham. Very fun car.

Re: Tell Us A Bit About Your Car
Hi, I have a 72 MGB and a 80 TR 8. The B is my favorite toy. I did a ground up restoration starting in 93. Over the years I've continued to upgrade & modify it and it is now a very quick and dependable car. The engine is 1800 .020 over with the higher comp pistons. APT cam (vp-12 I think) Mikuni carb and Falcon exaust. It has a Ron Hopkins suspension package with the Bilstien shocks in front and stock levers in the rear. 15x6 Panasports with 195-15 Yokahama AVS100s. It's like driveing an oversize go-kart! The TR 8 was purchased as a driver. I did a cosmetic resto on it. Paint, interior, new top. Also headers and the Holley conversion. Unfortunately, I was rearended in it back in 01 by a woman in a Hyundai. I have the bodywork done on it but decided to finish up detailing the engine compartment and some other upgrades while it was down. The project snowballed, as usual, and was put on the back burner for quite some time. I have recently dug it out and would like to get it back up running for next year. I have lots of boxes of new stuff, just need the time & energy to get it together. I came across a brand new 3.9 shortblock shortly after it was wrecked, found a set of matching heads that have been ported and fitted with the oversize valves. Comp Cams ground a cam for it and I can't wait to hear it speak. BTW this site was a great idea. Thanks MOSS

Re: Tell Us A Bit About Your Car
Let's see, The life with the cars of MG. Started in 1968 with a used 62 Mkll A, ivory and red purchased from Spreens Motors, Hackensack, NJ for...$1200.00! I kept that until I was hit head on while coming home from school. Totaled the car and a was not real pleased that this happened. The car had gone through and extensive tune up at a local Alfa dealer run by the O'brien family. He apparently raced Ferraris at Sebring and the other usual local venus. That white A was replaced with red A, same year that needed a valve job. But before that would happen I picked up a 67 black B with red leather. And a hardtop to boot (no pun) . I felt like I died and went to heaven..."look ma, roll up windows and heat !!! From the heater and not the engine!!" I think my wife and I sat in the car for half an hour rolling the windows up, rolling the windows down and repeating the process over and over! After that we bought a new 1970 Firebird that was as they say, less than reliable!. I had my own reserved space in the dealers garage for Gods sake!. That was traded in on a 70 B . Family came, B went until 1988 when I found my current 74 chrome bumper that has had a good deal of normal mechanical work. Now I think, as retirement came along, and the need for an additional car makes the decison easier, it is time to let it go. But I just saw a very nice Miata and that may be the answer, we'll see.

Re: Tell Us A Bit About Your Car
Yellow ' 75 B . It runs and I've got all the lights and instruments working . I've logged 2,500 miles since buying it in Dec. ' 05. I have replaced the Master Cyl., front brake lines, brakes .water pump ,battery and exhaust . going to try replacing the Clutch master and slave cylinders. Threw a dash cap on this weekend and it looks pretty good, but the seats are shot. My first project though, was the most satisfying so far. I refinished the Rostyle wheels and they came out great. Now I'm trying to decide which to have done next: the body work and paint or front end and engine. I'm not a "joiner " so I don't belong to any clubs, but I enjoy attending the different shows and events in my area, and visit a lot of the club websites often.

Re: Tell Us A Bit About Your Car
My current car is a 77 MGB, this is my fourth, and final, MG. I previously had a 71 MGB-GT, a 73 MGB and a 77 Midget. I bought my current B right after it was restored about 10 years ago in Ca. We have since moved to SC, close to the foothills which gives a great driving roads. I am starting to have some steering/front end issues that I hope this forum will help me identify and fix.

Re: Tell Us A Bit About Your Car
I just purchased a Daimler sp250. I had a TR3 many years ago and had this opportunity I didn't want to pass up. I know it had many crossover parts in common with TRs. When I pick up the car I beleive there is a shop manual with it. Engine/transmission front end ans shocks redone... I need to repaint, reupholster, and put together. Any advice or tips would be appreciated. I know it needs a distributor, starter, and carbs (HD6 or HD8), but I know the carbs are special.
