    Dr Dan,

    The material is pulled around the tubular rails that make up the seat frame and then spring steel clips are popped on to hold it in place. Not too tight, not too loose. You'll get the hang of it. Actually, the process is fairly intuitive. The trick is to get the foam worked in evenly and to get the right degree of tautness. Enjoy.

    Hi There;

    Christine;  I just spoke to Charles relative to "Britfest":  1st of all;  You folks have the Incorrect Email address:  Simply drop the Period between the "c and t" & Its Good to Go:

    The Show is in "Succassana" but not where I thought it was;  Meaning at "Moss Motors"!

    Anyways;  I know exactly where it is & perhaps we`ll get to Meet with Yourself @ a Future Show;

    Regards,  Russ

    Yeah,

    Tell me where's some Elvas too. That's the one that has eluded me, and I have a very special and nostalgic reason for wanting one beyond the fact that they are just plain cool.

    Motorbill-

    I'll bet your reason for wanting an Elva is because it was one of the first cars our world class New Jersey driver, Mark Donahue, raced successfully.

    LC Get's it!

    Not only was Mark my local hero, but an old racer who gave me a lot of help and advice when I started out, had previously done the same for Mark when he started. In fact, old Lew Schultz prepped Mark's Elva, and had his shop next door to the shop where I started my career in automobiles. Later on, I met Mark Donohue and recieved driving instruction from him. I've always used sixes in my car numbers (my avatar was is a pic before repainting for my "debut") Like he did. I prefer 66 when it hasn't been taken already. Now everybody knows where the 66 at the end of motorbill originates.

    1970 Rover 2000 TC.

    Purchased last September. It had been sitting in a heated garage for 21 years with the unleaded converted head sitting in a box. The DPO had never put it back together after having the head done in 1987. Interior is in great shape, and rust is manageable. The sills need redone, but common for this car.

    The engine is being rebuilt with 2200cc pistons to lower fuel requirement from 100 octane to 94 octane. Brake calipers are being rebuilt, and dual brake servos will be replaced with new lockheed units.

    Parts aren't too hard to find yet, most obtainable in Canada, with some parts coming from UK.

    Lots to do...

    Re: Tell Us A Bit About Your Car

    Hi all,

    My car is a 1957 Nash Metropolitan.  I've had it for about ten years, but haven't driven it much because of some serious front suspension issues.  I stripped off the front suspension and am in the process of refurbishing bushings etc.  In the process I'm installing Spridget disc brakes to take alot of the doubt away.  The engine is original, but a little tired, and I've always wanted an electric car (actually I've always wanted a bumper car with a golf cart motor to run in the neighborhood), so this is going to be an urban electric car, capable of a top speed of around 55 mph, but will probably give me 35 mph for about 45 miles of city driving.

    The EV list I belong to has a few Midget and Spitfire conversions, and an Austin A40.  Most of the conversions are done in such a way that the surgery is reversable.  Mine's going to stay electric forever, since my granddaughter will probably inherit it.

    Re: Tell Us A Bit About Your Car

    I learned the tender art of stick shifting at the age of 14 with my Sis's 1952 MGTD. That was about 55 years ago and I've had an on and off relationship with them ever since. My first was a nearly new 1964 MGB, the second was a 1956 MGA which I partially restored before selling, third came a 1974 MGB that I fully restored and, three weeks later, some idiot T-Boned me on my way home from work. I finally waited until I retired before purchasing my current 'old flame' a 1969 MG Midget Mark III named Chloe. The old girl was in pretty bad shape when I bought her but, after a few years of blood, sweat, tears, patience, a few busted knuckles, a lot of swearing and a ton of cash 'donated' to those great folks at Moss, Goleta, she is my pride and joy and a sweet little ride for this old guy.

    I recently acquired a 1971 Wolseley 16/60. The owner wanted it to go to a good home and the price was a token amount.

    What a hoot to drive!  Here's a video;

    I'm 50 and have been an MGB guy since I was 19. First car was a Nash Metro.

    I also own a '72BGT and a '67 Sprite. And...all three run!

    '69 Lotus Elan+2, doesn't appear to be many Lotus owners on this site. At one time I had 3 MGB's (all at the same time), a '67 Spitfire, a '73 TR6, and a '80 TR7.

    Oh, a '67 Alfa Duetto a long time ago!

    Re: Tell Us A Bit About Your Car

    A 61 Healey 3000 BT7 purchased in December 1962 from the original owner here in Oshawa who had eye surgery and wasn't driving. I talked him into selling.  Factory hardtop, wire wheels and everything else for the North American market at the time.  I guess one could say we have grown up and older together having had it since I was 20.  Retired now from General Motors here in Oshawa I'm starting to play with it again.  Has been in mothballs for years as work got in the way of a partial restoration needed from just sitting over those years.  Never winter driven except for the first year by the original owner and has always been garage stored. For years it was our second vehicle and had many trips to Florida with our two girls riding in the the rear seats and Saturday track days on our Mosport road course. Had a  'Healey' friend in Poughkeepsie NY and we visited back and forth often.  They were good times.
