I bought a 51 MGTD basket case about 18 months ago. The car was all completly disembled except the engine and trans was still on the frame.
The car was exposed to the elements and water got into the engine. It is mising a lot of parts, carbs, speedo & tach and other misc parts. I bought a 72 MGB that was baddly rusted on the bottom end. I am putting the 72 drivetrain in the 51. The engine needed to be bored .030 over and crank .020 over. I had the cam reground with higher lift and better duration. The engine and trans mounts are done and the rearend is in. I also put the disk breaks on the front, a lot of parts are the same so it's almost bolt on with minor mods. I'm also putting the anti-roll bar in the front. This TD should be a good daily driver, on sunny days.
