    John,

Count me in. It'd be fun to share some photos from around the shop, if that's OK.

    Re: Photo Galleries

John, how about a search function for the photos? Or at least sort them alphabetically by user name. There are times I'd like to reference a photo in an answer to a question, but find it too difficult to tell the other person how to locate it. Thanks

    Re: Photo Galleries

Bill The easiest thing to do is put the photo in your reply. Find the photo you want and click on properties and copy the URL address then click the tree picture above the message box and a box will display. Paste the URL address in the box and there you go.

A solid method for sure, DV.

When you place photos in your gallery, you can also place "TAGS" under the photo when you are first placing it in there (or later in the edit features). If you make the tags specific enough - say, "John Zarate-Khus MGB 1970 California Santa Barbara 11/4/08 1542 hours PST," - then you should be able to search for it easily enough.

Generally speaking, sorry about the delay in answering here, guys. I have been swamped with getting our Holiday Sale up and going - make sure to also check out our Holiday Shopping Tips page for our hours and schedule, shipping dates, etc.

Let me know if anyone has any problems or issues with their galleries and I will give the best help I can.

    Re: Photo Galleries

John, thanks for all your help. I have added tags to my photos and the tags show up in the "tags" window, but when I try to access the photos using the tags I get a message that "we are unable to process your request". I haven't tried DV's method yet, but I'll give it a stab.

The main thing I'd usually like to do is be able to paste a particular photo which might be in my personal files on my PC to a message in order to help explain a point. Because these are not posted anywhere "on line" there is no URL link that will work. I guess I'd have to down load the photo to your site then use the tag or URL in the post. This would be especially helpful on technical issues where a manual page or drawing would be worth the proverbial "thousand words".

Looking forward to your Holiday Sale, need some items for the Midget this year.

    Re: Photo Galleries

    Bill Young,

If you are trying to upload images from your own personal computer, try using ImageShack - as given in this thread:

    http://www.mossmotors.com/forum/forums/thread/28.aspx

In this thread there are also tips on how to use your own gallery images to post into threads as well.

But, overall, yes, typically the image HAS to be somewhere online for you to be able to use it anywhere else online. Of course, you could possibly set your computer up to be a host for the image, but this is not recommended (in fact, HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED) as it would expose your computer to constant threat of hacker attacks.

I hope this helps, if not, let me know and we can see what else we might be able to do.

    John
