Hello, I'd love to be able to post some photos to a Gallery, also. Could you please enable one for me? Thanks!

John, A question - on the highest tier of the photo gallery file system...I assume you or someone at Moss manages the controls for that level. The display at that level is for 5 photos...I mistakenly added a sixth, and now one of the others is not seen. The only place I see where I can remove the one mistakenly added is in manage "photos all". If I do that, it also disappears from the subordinate album where I want it to stay. ??? I've been playing around with "tags/albums" and have some of it figured out. I'd like a single photo representative of each album (by individual car) on the general photo navigation page (Ray McCaleb's LBCs), but then have access to additional photos of the same car within a separate album (i.e., '73 Midget). I'm getting close, but there are still some quirks to work through. Ray

Welcome to the galleries and blogs, MGB. Also, bamnow, your account should already have the gallery and blog features. If not, let me know and I will look closer. ****

Ray, I see 6 "sub galleries" under your account - have you figured any of this out yet? If not I can try to help you out a bit, but I don't think I have any more abilities than you as far as photo/gallery management in this regard. The only thing beyond your permissions that I have is turning on or off your gallery and setting global settings for sizes and so on. John ZK ****

John, Thanks for the reply; yes, I have figured a way to accomplish what I wanted to do which is basically to have a separate "album" for each car. I used the display by "tag/album" option (I think that's what it is called) and selected "album". Unfortunately, the images that load to the main gallery page (the page that lists all users galleries) cannot be specified by the user; the default is to simply display the last images entered into the gallery. I suppose that to fool the software I can delete the key photo (one for each car) from the "all photos" page, and then reload them. That should cause them to be placed on the main navigation page. The problem with doing it this way is that the key photo often contains a description that will have to be reloaded, etc. Ray

John, I tried what I mentioned in my prior post; I reloaded the "key" images I wanted associated with each page. I started with the one I wanted displayed to the far right (#5 in the 5 photo display) and worked back (to the left)...it worked out OK. A bit more work, but it gave me the look I wanted. BTW, photos in my albums are sorted by NAME, so that is why each photo will have a sequence number preceeding the title. By using a three tier number, i.e., (1.1.1) you can easily come back and insert new photos in the future. Ray

There is now a basic "How To" thread for those that may be having problems figuring out how to post/create/use the photo gallery section. http://www.mossmotors.com/Forum/forums/3016/ShowThread.aspx#3016 John ****

Hi, John. I got a chance over the holidays to review all of the galleries. I was just wondering, do you as the administrator have the ability to sort the galleries by photo count? If so, you could sort high to low and then all of the populated galleries would display at the top of the list and those that are empty at the end. That would be easier for the user than going through all the list looking for galleries with content. Just a thought, Ray
