    Austin A90 Atlantic Convertible

In 1948, the Austin Motor Company of England introduced the Austin A90 Atlantic to the American market to compete with Cadillac and high end cars. The A90 has a lot of chrome including five pieces down the hood (bonnet) and on the boots and wide white side wall tires. Leather interior was used to try and lure the American public to buy the A90. This car has many other features such as three headlights, with the one in the middle being called a Fog Lamp. The window glass goes up and down with a lever action pull up or push down. The dash has a built in tach with 4 speed on the column.

There were only 350 of these sold in the USA from 1948 to 1952. As a promotion, an A90 was run at Indianaplis Speedway and covered 11,850 miles in 7 days and nights, only stopping for fuel. With the advanced speed of 70 mph, it broke 63 records which until then, had been held by American cars.

The Austin A90 Atlantic Convertible that I have for sale sat in a small barn before I took it off the frame and completely restored it, with all new wiring and engine overhaul with all the matching numbers. There are many pictures of the restoration, parts manual, service manual, owners manual and pictures of the record breaking car at Indianapolis with all three drivers.

This car runs very well and would be a great piece for any collector or as a car to show with the family. I guarantee you the car will draw a crowd. Priced at only $48,500 it will be a great investment. Car is in OH. 740-819-0612 or 740-453-2922 or email Larry at lwollard@wildblue.net
