    Compression ratio vs compression readings

After installing my rebuilt "shaved" head on my TR4 I'm getting compression readings in the high 190# range.

I've pluged all the numbers into the various compression ratio caculators on the web and come up with a compression ratio of about 9.5 to 1.

Stock compression ratio spec is 9 to 1.  I'm thinking my compression readings are really  high for a rather small increase in compression ratio.  Is this cause for concern?  How would I lower the compression ratio?  Should I not worry and just drive on?  Thanks: KSD

KSD, First of all, full marks for persistance!!

Cos Im interested myself I googled the topic of trying to derive CR from pressure tests and found a variety of references the most straight forward of which concerned Ford tractor engines which seemed appropriate!! Looks like you are probably running with a CR of 10+/- 0.5 or so. See  http://www.ntractorclub.com/howtos/pdfs/compression_testing_tutorial.pdf  Hope this helps!  Cheers    - - - - -  steve
