I wonder how to do a diagnostic on my Rover 45.  I tried two EOBD machines and no response.  The K and L lines are live and it has a 16 pin diagnostic plugin. 

I was told to look for a machine that works on 90's MG-Rover with its own communication protocol that is not EOBD.  It is suggested that it has the Rover Mems 3  and 16 pin diagnostic but did not change to EOBD until 2001.

Can anyone tell me of a place to get the proper machine for this year of car??

MEMS 3 sounds like the Rover system as used in some Land Rovers and, strangely, Morgans that came to this country around 2000 with the Rover V8 engine. We used to do some of the service for a local dealer who is now defunct, but I recall the MEMS 3 system reader. Who knows? Find a Rover or Morgan dealer and give it a shot.
