ONE OWNER 1971 MGB/GT 4 cylinder, 4 speed with twin SU carbs and factory oil cooler. I bought this car new off the show room floor in St Louis, MO after returning from Vietnam in 1971; I am the ONLY owner. The car is beautiful with no rust and garaged for all but a few years since purchased new. It is Bronze Yellow (Orange) with black interior. The seat covers are original and mint, there are are no cracks in the dash. and the headliner is white and perfect. The paint is original with a few scratches and a ding here and there but it is perfect, ORIGINAL, and needs nothing. The chrome bumpers are perfect. The glass is perfect and not fogged - rear hatch glass is heated. Everything works - lights, heater, fan, brake test light, all gauges etc except for the speedometer (I have a replacement). I have maintained this car continuously since new with 3,000 mile or 6 month oil changes and regular tune ups including valve adjustments. It has a new fuel pump, fuel sending unit, clutch master and slave cylinder, brake master cylinder, new front brake calipers, new alternator and new Yokohama tires.
The engine has never been opened up and the entire engine bay is as it left the factory (you can eat off of it) and there are no dangling or cut wires anywhere! It is also a "250,000 MGB Special" (produced during the time the 250,000th MGB rolled off the assembly line) and is equipped with a special one-off console with clock and original British Leyland working AM/FM radio. NOTHING needs to be done to this car but maintained by someone who will appreciate how rare it is and will love and maintain it.
The entire car is museum quality, original, unrestored, a MGB time capsule. The only reason I'm finally selling my car is that I am engaed to a lady from Scotland and within the next year we are planning to move to Scotland. Where would you find another car like this in the entire world? NOTHING needs to be done or should be done to ruin the original condition of this car. Just buy it, drive it, love it, or let it be your museum central attraction. Considering how rare my car is and the excellent condition it is in, I am asking $40,000. The car is located in Oxford, Mississippi, an hour and a half south of Memphis, Tennessee. Buyer arranges shipping.
