I have a 1979 MGB GT on which the overdrive sounds a bit dicky, according to my Haynes book to replace the unit I must first remove the entire engine and gearbox as one lump before I can unbolt the overdrive unit. This seems a lot of work, I wondered if anyone has managed to do the job by removing the gearbox support and lowering the rear end of the gearbox?
