    LED Bulbs

I am thinking of changing bulbs in my TR6 for LED type bulbs,Brake lights, rear lights and indicators and position lamp inside the headlights I understand that I will need to fit a new indicator relay, will any 2 connector type suitable for LED bulbs work? and does anyone know where one is available to buy on the internet, and do I need a separate one for the hazard light switch?

    Many Thanks in adavance.

    Ah yes, the flasher conundrum!

The flashers in our cars flash at a rate that is directly proportional to the amount of current that flows through them. By changing to an LED bulb, the current draw is greatly reduced, therefor the flasher unit won't!

The short answer to your question is that ANY flasher designed for that smaller, LED current will be fine.

The only consideration for our OLDER cars is the polarity. Unlike light bulbs, LED's are polar which means that the direction of current flow is imperative. If you have a positive ground car, you'll have to swap the wires at the bulb socket. Other than that, electrons don't care if they're flowing in a 68 Sprite, 72 Pinto or an 09 Jaguar!

Thanks for the advice, it is a negative earth, and I have located the indicator relay, but is there a separate for the hazards? and if so so where is it?

I'm not sure about your car...BUT....

On the Spridgets, there is a seperate one. It is located in the radio shroud, right above the hazard switch.

If you remove the radio console, you'll see it (on a Spridget).

Here's a link to the schematic for your car.. http://www.advanceautowire.com/tr2506.pdf

If you need me to look at the schematic for you - no problem. What year is your car?

thanks for the offer of help I am hoping it is in engine bay, otherwise it will be a nightmare to find it if it is behind the dash. I will keep you informed.

    Re: LED Bulbs

    I just checked the schematic.

There IS a separate one for your car.

    Re: LED Bulbs

If you have not found your relays yet, there should be a turn signal relay in the passenger (right side) footwell, on the fender side. The hazard relay should be in the engine compartment close to the fuse box on the left hand inner fender.
